A new design studio in Sicily

GiulianoFukuda is a design studio founded by Lucia Giuliano (Catania) and Makoto Fukuda (Tokyo). Both lived and worked for several years in Barcelona where they experienced design at different scales (from architecture, to interior, landscape and product) and discovered the power of designing as a transforming practice.

They recently moved to Sicily, where they are involved in an educational project, focused on spread out design culture in the island.

Working in Sicily means for them working closely with a rich complex territory who offers the designers a myriad of cultural inputs such as history, resources, traditions, food, nature, literature and so on. Their aim is to merge the international experience they carry out with the local strong identity creating projects with a unique strength and personality.
